Man of the Season
SEASON 6
How did it feel to be the Man of the Season 6?
It makes me feel happy to have won this series. It was a great regatta among good skippers. On the other side I do not overestimate this victory as in a team event not certainly the best skippers are in the season finals. But I am happy that VSKFun won already its third out of five Man of the Season titles, in particular after our improvable Season 6. This victory was the first sign of our team with regard to the next Season; we are intending to get back in the top ranks. :)
Tell us a little about you - Sailing, Hobbies, Where you from...?
My name is Philipp, I am Swiss and I live in the Lake of Constance area where I learned to sail on my parents boat. Meanwhile I sailed on different sport boats on a national and sometimes on international waters. At the moment I am crewing a Star and be part of a Esse 850 team. I work as a lawyer and notary public, in the meantime in my own law firm. I live together with my partner and our 2 years old son in a small town close to Lake of Constance.
What was your first experience in VSK ?
Once a day my father bought VSK for his sons. When I realized that VSK allowed online gaming, I became addicted. J I do not remember my first experience actually, but I soon realized the differences in levels between public races and organized events under specific rules and (mostly) with a Protest Committee. So I and other VSKFunnies started to organize events on our website. Unfortunately I do not have enough time anymore to spend so much time for VSK community. I merely try to be part of some events as a skipper.
What you have to say about VSK TEAM LEAGUE?
The success of this event is the best proof that it is a good event. I and our team always have fun in our teamspeak. We are looking forward to Season 7! Indeed the format with two teams in a fleet racing mode often results in rule discussions. And the protest mode force the Protest Committee to decide all situation with rule 2 only. Nevertheless the format makes skippers to team mates, and that is what Team League is for!
What you think that would help newcomers stay with the game?
First of all, do as many races as you can. Analyse your races in the replay, from a tactic’s and a rule’s perspective. Learn from your mistakes! Learn from experienced skippers!
Say what you want and i didn't ask...?
A big thank to the Race Committee and all supporters! Cu all at Season 7!
Thank you
